My name is Phillip Solheim
I’m an actor and producer based in Los Angeles, crafting work that lives in the space between emotional depth, grounded presence, and unexpected power. I just wrapped the Screen Actor Certificate Program at Zak Barnett Studio and now continue to sharpen my on-camera practice through Zak’s Masterclass, training alongside actors committed to truth and precision.
I trained at the Sargent Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University, graduating summa cum laude. My foundation in classical and method-based theatre continues to evolve through my work with Martha Gehman, co–Artistic Director of The Actors Studio (New York) and a teacher of mine at Zak Barnett Studio. Her guidance deepens my connection to story through vulnerability, impulse, and honest emotional stakes.
On screen, I’m drawn to complex, layered characters - the quiet threat, the soulful romantic, the surprise you didn’t see coming - and I bring a full-body, instinctive commitment to every role. My recent projects include Lines (premiered at the Beverly Hills Film Festival) and MASC (premiered at the Chelsea Film Festival). I’m represented by Gio Bakunawa at Established Artists and am a member of Actor’s Equity.
Beyond performance, creating emotionally and psychologically safe artistic spaces matters deeply to me. My early work as a youth counselor with the YMCA and as a mentor for young artists with disabilities at Variety Children’s Charity continues to inform how I show up collaboratively. I believe the best creative environments are built on trust, curiosity, and shared humanity.
I’m also the co‑founder of Steel Cat Productions, a production company I run with my partner, Julia. We develop performance-forward, culturally conscious films and series that fuse emotional truth with savvy production models. We’re committed to cinematic specificity - and financial integrity - building long-term storytelling platforms that both move hearts and deliver measured, strategic results.
Whether I’m leading a story or helping bring it to life behind the scenes, my goal is the same: make work that matters - and make it well. To me, a well-crafted narrative is a gentle kind of medicine: sparking compassion, awakening imagination, and drawing us into shared experience.
